Topic Research
Now that you have selected a topic, you will research that topic. As you do your research, continue to ask yourself what your museum visitors should know about your topic and what they will find interesting.
Use the steps below to begin your research.
Develop Your Research Questions
- Step 1 - Download Research Questions Excel File
- Step 2 - Develop at least 10 research questions about your topic that will guide your research. Write these questions in the appropriate place in the Research Questions Excel File. See discussion for more information.
Identify Resources
- Step 3 - Download Research Notes Excel File
- Step 4 - Find 5 websites that provide good infomation about your topic. Copy and paste each website address into the appropriate place in the Research Notes Excel File.
- Step 5 - Show Mark or Morgan your 5 websites.
Research Links
Take Notes
- Step 6 - Go to your first website. Repaste the address one line below the the last website address.
- Step 7 - Begin to read through the website and take notes as you go. Use each cell for one note or bit of information.
- Step 8 - Go to your second website. Repaste the address one line below the last note from the previous website.
- Step 9 - Begin to read through the website and take notes as you go. Use each cell for one note or bit of information.
- Step 10 - Continue on in the same fashion for the remaining websites.
Organize Your Notes
- Step 11 - This step will be discussed in class and further explained by a soon to come information page. This step will make use of the Research Question Excel File that you downloaded earlier.
