Music Presentation (end of year)
As you get older, music will become more important to many of you. You may already have a favorite band, song, or type of music. I would like to give each of you the opportunity to share and discuss your favorite song with the class.
In general, you will select a favorite song and play it for the class and then you will lead a brief discussion about the song.What do you need to do to prepare to present and discuss your song?
- Pick a favorite song that you would like to share with the class and obtain a cd, mp3, or tape that contains the song.
- Gather some information about the song and be prepared to discuss with the class...
- If there are lyrics, who wrote the lyrics? (Please present the lyrics as part of the presentation.)
- Who wrote the music?

- Is your version the original version?
- What are some of the instruments being played on the song? Are there any unusual instruments?
- What is the song about?
- How does the song make you feel?
- Why do you like the song?
- Into what genre does the song fit?
- What is special about the song?
- Is the song popular? Why or why not?

- Background information about the band, artist, composer, or director.
- History of the band, artist, composer, or director.
- Pictures of the band, artist, composer, or director.
- What was happening at the time that the song was released that may have had some influence on the artist?
