Weatherlore is different than Folklore. Weatherlore focuses on the changes in the environment and how it effects living things such as, animals, insects, birds and people.

After reading some of the interesting weatherlores, list the ones you have heard of before and if you think they are true. You may want to share them with parents or grandparents and get their input. They may have an iteresting tale to tell. (You will present this list to the class and share any tales you were told!

Homework: As you awaken and get ready for the day, look out your window and observe your surroundings. What is the weather like? What types of clouds do you see? Is there anything on the grass? Can you see your neighbors house clearly? These types of things help you figure out what to wear for the day. As you are getting ready cleverly put together your own little weatherlore to predict what the rest of the day will be like, based on your early morning observations. We will post these in the room and at the end of the day we will see if your weatherlore came true! :)
