Personnel:

Counselor (Nancy Kelly) hired. Parents will be notified if they are receiving counseling. Home team teacher will contact parent first. Parent then contacts Nancy. This will happen in group situations as well.

Hire an administrator?

Self — sustaining school is a major issue that we want to address. Staff works too much currently. Administrator would be a big help. We are trying to figure out what that administrator’s job description would be. Teachers are envisioned at the top of the school hierarchy. Executive secretary scenario.

Dan — Job description?

Nothing set yet, but we are working on a job description. We need more support staff to help us serve the students best.

Might be some issues with hiring person at this point in the year. Everybody is supportive from the standpoint that the staff’s workload is too much.

Kyle would still be Chief Administrative Officer.

Office manager might be a good title for new administrative person. Salary of approx. $20k. Might be able to call South Hills Business School. "Intern" for rest of this year might be OK.

Security issue might want to be revisited.

Budget report was handed out with intentions for Kyle to interpret them at next meeting.

Ending time for Board meetings:

9:30 was consensus

Starting November, Board meetings will be rescheduled if it goes longer than 9:30.

Moving Board meeting to Fireside room might expediate the process.

Parent meeting in Team 1 room

Board meeting 5 minutes after Parent meeting in the Fireside room.

Viv — Student reps have not been attending.

We need to address that.

Viv would like Brian’s salary to be addressed if we have space in the budget.
