Timeline Selections

The Neuroscience Timeline will help visitors to the Institute better understand the major events that have occurred in neuroscience history. It will also serve to provide a context for these events. When completed, the timeline will be exhibited in the foyer, and it will document neuroscience history from ancient times to modern times.

Each member of the institute must submit 3 entries to the timeline.

You must have each of your topic selections approved by Mark. You must complete your rough draft and submit it prior to selecting your next topic. Please check over the topic selection list to view topics that have already been selected.

Each entry must include:

  • the year the event took place,
  • a title,
  • a visual representation of the event,
  • a written explanation or description of the event. This should be at least a paragraph in length,
  • a "so what" -what is the significance or importance of the event,
  • a reference to what else was going on at that time (this could be a historical event, an entertainment reference, sports reference, or any other notable event). Refer to class discussion for more information,
  • resources used, and
  • your name.
Each final timeline entry will be presented on an 8 x 11 piece of paper, and each entry should be mounted on a colored piece of construction paper.
