The EOYP is an independent/student guided project that should demonstrate how the student can apply skills, knowledge, and attributes they have developed in order to accomplish something unique, special, and perhaps important.
The End of Year Project has two components.
Do Something
Each student must first do something. This something is up to the student, and it could involve creating, building, researching, volunteering, and so on. In the past, students have built go-karts, fork lifts, and elegant tables. Students have created entertainment/instructional DVDs on topics such as bicycle repair and Dirty Jobs. Students have volunteered with organizations such as March of Dimes, Care Homes, and Hospitals. Students have also done service projects that benefit CLC.
Note: Although CLC teachers will be provide guidance and assistance, all students will be encouraged to find mentors outside of CLC that can help guide the students throughout the project.
Present What You Have Done
At the end of the year, each student must make a presentation that demonstrates and informs the school of what they have accomplished. Each 8th grade presentation should be between 15 and 20 minutes long (7th grade presentation are to be 10 minutes long). The presentation should inform, educate, and entertain the audience. The presentation should also demonstrate some of the many skills the student has acquired during their time at CLC, but most of all, the presentation should document and highlight, through pictures, video, and examples, what the student has accomplished for their End of Year Project
