In general, CLC laptops and technology are provided as learning tools. Altering, misusing, or neglecting CLC technology will result in the loss of technology privileges.
Failure to comply with the guidelines and rules below may result in the loss of technology privileges and/or other consequences.

Loss of or damage to computer or power adapter is your responsibility. If loss or damage occurs, Mark must be told immediately and you are responsible for replacement or repair.

Computer must be transported in a appropriate laptop bag.

Computer must be brought to school everyday.

Cameras and other CLC technology must be signed out using a "technology request form" (see Morgan). Equipment that is taken home must be returned the next day.

How you use your laptop and other CLC technology must not impede your ability to use the tools in order to learn.

You must maintain a professional looking web site. If Mark asks you to update or change your student site, you will have one week to make the necessary changes.

Desktop picture must be appropriate and represent the type of image we want to present at CLC.

No computer games at school (this also means lunch and after school).

No music during work time. You may listen to music at lunch using headphones. Those students that demonstrate consistent and excellent progress may be permitted to listen to music later in the year.

No instant messenger or instant messaging is to be used during school hours.

CLC technology may not be used to access or post on MySpace or other social networks.

Indecent or inappropriate content, emails, or messaging will result in immediate loss of computer privileges.

Misuse or neglect of CLC technology will result in immediate loss of technology privileges.

No sharing of personal information over the web or via email.

Tampering with other students' files or work will result in immediate loss of technology privileges.

Beepers, telephones, pagers, cellular phones, and all other electronic devices should not be used in such a way that impedes learning, violates privacy, or interferes with the school or ESP program. CLC is not responsible for the loss, theft, or destruction of such property.
