Making Animations With Alice

Use the following rubric to track your progress throughout the year. Your goal should be to master each of the 'Basic' and 'Proficient' skills as soon as you are able. Then move on to the 'Advanced' skills.

  • View a tutorial.
  • Locate the World Window.
  • Locate the object tree (list of objects in the world).
  • Locate the 'details area'.
  • Locate the editor area.
  • Locate the events area.
  • Play a world by clicking on the 'Play' button.
  • Close a world.
  • Open a template.
  • Add/delete objects.
  • Rotate an object.
  • Duplicate an object.
  • Resize an object.
  • Access object gallery.
  • Add Alice to your dock.
  • Open an Alice World.
  • Save your Alice world as a standard application.
  • Add pictures to your world.
  • Select objects in the object tree and then the 'methods' button to see more information about them and what they can do.
  • Drag and drop a method onto the editor area and edit it by adding a number.
  • Change the order of moves (methods) in the editor area.
  • Edit objects using the properties button.

Click here to download a Beta version of Alice 3 (it doesn't have any tutorials linked, so you'd do better to sue the 2.2 version that's already in your applications folder.
